The Timeless Elegance of Lancôme Paris
Founded in 1935 Armand Petitjean, an ex-Coty employee, Lancôme Paris has expanded from what started as a small Paris perfume company to a French cosmetics megalith. This iconic rose logo was inspired by the luscious roses blooming around the dilapidated ruins of Le Château de Lancosme and hints at the company’s name—taken from the very superstition that reigns over the castle throughout its lifetime in Nevermore. Born as a scent house at the Brussels World Fair in 1935, Lancôme released a debut collection of five captivating fragrances carefully curated for women; Tendre Nuit, Bocages, Conquete, Kypre, and Tropiques. The brand extended its portfolio over the years and started selling a variety of skin care and cosmetics aimed at both men and women.
Lancôme’s support of top-tier luxury is clear in its powerful ad campaigns starring A-list models and celebrities driven by the lens of high-fashion photographers. The label followed this up with a 14-year relationship with Isabella Rossellini, and in 2009 her daughter Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann. Lancôme has also endeared itself to younger customers through their partnership with the likes of the unassailable Emma Watson, who just recently has famously repped the Tresor Midnight Rose fragrance.
When Lancôme was incorporated into the L’Oreal group in that year and until now, they continued creating, innovating, and expanding their fragrance line. Among the most famous are Climat, Magie Noire, and Tresor. Their fragrance assortment now includes series like the Aroma, Attraction, and Hypnose, as well as limited editions like LA VIE EST BELLE COLLECTION everyone’s favorites LANCOME LA COLLECTION and the TRESOR COLLECTION among many more. Each of the collections proposes different olfactory nuances, satisfying the most demanding taste of perfume lovers in any corner of the world.
