Fendi’s new perfume collection is a testament to the brand’s long-standing tradition of elegance and innovation. Each fragrance in the collection is inspired by a different member of the Fendi family, reflecting the legacy and distinctive personalities that have shaped the Italian fashion house over the years. Kim Jones, Fendi’s artistic director, played a pivotal role in this olfactory project, collaborating closely with the LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton fragrance division.
The Master Perfumers Behind the Scents
The creation of this extraordinary collection was entrusted to master perfumers Quentin Bisch, Fanny Bal, and Anne Flipo. Renowned for their expertise and creativity, these perfumers used highly concentrated, premium ingredients sourced from around the world to craft each fragrance. Some standout ingredients include orange blossom absolute from Tunisia, bergamot from Calabria, patchouli from Indonesia, iris from France, and vanilla from Madagascar. CASA GRANDE
Inspired by Fendi’s founder, Adele Casagrande, CASA GRANDE is a rich and evocative scent that pays homage to the brand’s origins. Adele, who started the business in 1925 with her husband Edoardo Fendi, is remembered through a blend of cherry, amber, leather, myrrh, vanilla, and tonka beans. This fragrance embodies the strength and pioneering spirit of Adele Casagrande. The top notes of cherry and amber give way to a heart of leather and myrrh, which settles into a warm base of vanilla and tonka beans, creating a complex and enduring scent.
DOLCE BACIO
DOLCE BACIO captures the tender memory of a mother’s kiss, honoring Anna Fendi, one of the legendary Fendi sisters and the mother of Silvia Venturini Fendi. With keynotes of Damascena rose and patchouli, this fragrance is a heartfelt tribute to the bond between mother and daughter. The initial burst of the Damascena rose is softened by the earthy depth of patchouli, creating a balanced and deeply emotional scent.
PERCHE NO
Silvia Venturini Fendi, the creative force behind the iconic Baguette and Peekaboo bags, inspired PERCHE NO. This scent reflects Silvia’s mantra, “Perche no” (“Why not?”), and evokes the imagery of a white sheet drying in the sun at her Roman countryside estate. The fragrance features notes of pink pepper, pine, and sandalwood. The top note of pink pepper provides a spicy opening, which transitions to a fresh heart of pine, and finishes with a smooth base of sandalwood, encapsulating Silvia’s adventurous and limitless spirit.
PRIMA TERRA
PRIMA TERRA is inspired by the childhood memories of British designer Kim Jones, who serves as the artistic director of couture and womenswear at Fendi. This fragrance pays tribute to the distinctive smells and landscapes of Southern and Eastern Africa. Keynotes of tangerine, rosemary, and moss create a vibrant and earthy scent. The bright, citrusy top note of tangerine is complemented by the aromatic heart of rosemary and a grounding base of moss, capturing the essence of Jones’ early years.
SEMPRE MIO
Representing the fourth generation of the Fendi family, Delfina Delettrez Fendi and her sister Leonetta Luciano Fendi are honored through the SEMPRE MIO fragrance. This scent reflects the essence of the Ourika Valley near Marrakech, blending notes of orange blossom and cedarwood to create a scent that’s as enchanting as the valley itself. The floral top note of orange blossom leads into a woody heart of cedarwood, evoking the beauty and tranquility of this cherished location.
CIAO AMORE
CIAO AMORE is a tribute to the Italian island of Ponza, where the Fendi family spends their summers. Inspired by Delfina and Leonetta’s favorite vacation spot, this fragrance features notes of fig leaf, orange blossom, and tonka beans. The green top note of fig leaf is brightened by a floral heart of orange blossom and deepened by a sweet, warm base of tonka beans, capturing the charm and warmth of Ponza.
LA BAGUETTE
Dedicated to Delfina Delettrez Fendi’s young twins, Tazio and Dardo, LA BAGUETTE humorously references their favorite snack—a slice of bread with butter and sugar—as well as the inception of the brand’s iconic handbag. With keynotes of iris, leather, and vanilla, this fragrance is both playful and sophisticated. The powdery top note of iris blends seamlessly with a leathery heart and a creamy base of vanilla, creating a whimsical yet refined scent.
Launch and Availability
Mark your calendars! The Fendi perfume collection will make its grand debut at the Cannes Fendi store on June 4th, 2024, followed by a launch at the Fendi boutique on Paris’ Rue Saint-Honoré on June 10th. The fragrances will then be available at a wide selection of Fendi stores worldwide and on the brand’s e-commerce platform starting June 20th. In China, the collection will be available from September onward.
